    Default Wrench Much? Kevlar Sleeves!!

So I found these while looking through TCB circle track stuff (linked from Miataturbo)

They look pretty sweet for $25.
I had to replace my heater hose, the one that goes behind the engine, and these would've been nice!

Those would be handy for removing the oil filter off a warm/hot Miata engine.

I don't normally have too much trouble with that, as I'm left handed.

So am I. No, really. Do you remove a wheel to get to the filter? I don't remember where the filter is on an NA. On the NB it's under the intake manifold and will burn the sh*t out of you.

No, I use a glove (for grip and heat) but I can reach down under the intake manifold and reach it without too much trouble.

    You have big wrists?

I wear a long sleeve shirt to get to the oil filter, even if the car is cold. With all the tubing and hose clamps that I have to maneuverer around, without the long sleeve shirt, it would look like I had been in a cat fight.

I have a ton of those that a customer gave moe once. Since I work on cars and equipment all the time for a living I use them all the time. ITs nice to be able to work on something hot and not burn youself. If you combine these with gloves then you have it made.

Does Kevlar wick liquids like normal fabrics? If so you wouldn't want to get a hot fluid on you with these on because it would just soak it up and be clinging and burning you. I never though insulation was one kevlar's useful properties.
