Noice!
Wind chill had been driving me nuts lately, so I thought I'd make my own wind block. I ran over to Lowe's and picked up a $7 sheet of 24"x18" Lucite. I used my HDHCHTDD guide and made a cardboard template. I transfered the template to the Lucite and cut away! I then drilled several holes and used zip ties to attach it to my roll bar. Easy and cheap but effective!
Not bad, eh? :p
I prettied it up for AutoX days -

So how well does it work? I've been thinking of doing something similar for years, but with velcro straps instead of zip ties, so I could remove it.

It works fairly well... I went out on test drives tonight and had no problems with it. I was looking to use velcro cable ties as well but just didn't get around to picking any up. Plus I would have to have used a router to make the holes nice and wide. If I have to remove it, I'll just snip the ties with a pair of snips and get on with life. To replace, just another ten ties. Easy, for me anyhow.
Good job Bean! I like it!
Nice one 3Bean!
Although you could use a simple Dremel tool to do the slots instead of a router

I'd go with the black Duct Tape for more bling
True, but to free hand something that I wanted to look good would have been almost impossible - especially repeating it 10 times. I didn't want to make pattern out of wood to use as a template - besides, the zip ties don't bother me in the least. When I get more roll bar padding, it too will be held on with more ties!Originally Posted by channelmaniac
