    Default Hallett Update

    ROOMS,

I have 6 rooms at the Event hotel each with two double beds. If you are interested in a bed then I need a head count and you can determine who you want to stay with or want a room to yourself.

Please confirm ASAP as I will need to cancel a coupl I am sure. Here is who I know will be attending so far for a bed.

    UPDATE 9-9-08

    Gary-TDR
    Robert-Skirt
    John Wag
    Chris F
    Mike Glass
    Chris Sharp
    Chris Dad
    Gab

This is 4 rooms so far and two more available. Please note, if you agree to a bed and back out at the last moment then you are responsible for your share of the room which would be one nights stay.

    FRIDAY TRACK DAY

Spoke with Gail and she said you need to send her CHECK Now for $75.

Any questions let me know, but if you want a bed I need to know now.

    Gary

My dad and I willtake one of those rooms. Do we just call them and say we want a tdr room? We're moving up in the world, I'm gonna miss our little hole in the wall motel in Cleveland.

For those not interested in driving 45 minutes to the track on Saturday morning to arrive there at 7am, A few of us are staying at Keystone Lake Motel on Friday night in Mannford, OK. It is only 10 minutes from Hallett. We are staying at the Event hotel on Saturday night though.
Rates are also cheaper although not quite as nice as Hampton Inn.

    $40-$50 a night
    ...and across the line.

Gary, you need to add Chris Fain's (machismo) name to the list.

Maybe this should be with the Open Track Section since that is where the Hallett event thread started. Moderator, please move.

    Thanks,

If we were not a sponsor of the Hallett event I would consider the closer location as well, but all our friends we have met from other cities and states will be there so maybe a little more fun than being out away. After Friday short track day you will probably want to come to the Hampton to meet, greet and get happy so it makes more sense to take off your shoes at the main hotel and pay $20 more.

Those who are not staying at the Hampton, we will leave the light on for you.

Yea but that extra 20 bucks gets us a meal or a half tank of gas. More importantly, Carazzie doesn't have to get up as early Saturday morning; she's not a morning person at all.

I'm planning on going up on Friday to get some rides in... the $75 is just for those driving on Friday, right?

Yes...it's true...I'm a <<s l u g>> in the morning...and the main reason I asked him to do this - he'll probably be throwing ice water on me to get me out of bed.

It'll be a little more than a $20 savings...we were told $79 plus taxes, surcharges and all that fun stuff - so it's more like 40 or 50 bucks.

And for Nails that's a whole weekend worth of Subway sandwhiches!!
Otherwise he wouldn't have agreed to do this!

I see that we still have to be at the Hampton Inn Friday night for the manditory meeting...so we'll still be there Friday night for how ever long...

I was wondering if anybody was going to host a "tech day" - having never done this before, I am curious if my car will pass a tech inspection...and what that entails...it would really suck to get there and not be able to drive!! Nails is doing my brakes for me - I had the 60k maintenance done recently enough - new tires - I'm thinking I'll be okay...

    Default My car's done.

Alrighty then! Just bled the NC's brakes and it's ready for Hallett!

I also took out the floor mats and any extraneous stuff that's not needed.

I think I lightened her up enough that I should be able to keep up with Gary no problem!

Sharpie just passed this info on to me.

This is for all you experienced & intermediate 2 drivers...I hope that all of you know about Friday @ Hallett...but if for some reason that you don't...

Friday 1/2 day driving session for only $75.00

Drivers meeting at 11:00 w/ Clean Tech...

we will have two driving sessions of 25 minutes each and then it will be open track the rest of the day...so you can come and go as you would like.

I dunno man... I think you could ditch the headlights, belly pan, windblocker, and soft top and save a few more lbs. If you wanna catch Gary you might have to take off the doors too... but then again, he'll prolly blow those off anyhow.

Just playing with directions on Google maps...

    75 to Tulsa, then 412/69 to 99 = 273 miles in 4h 34min

    75 to Durant, then 48 to 51 (Mannford) to 99 = 250 miles in 5h 46min
