Thread: Machine shop on the Westside

Question Machine shop on the Westside

Need to get some upper a-arm bushings pressed in an out on the 'lac.

Figure I can pull the upper a-arms myself and can deliver.

Anyone got any recommendations of a shop on the westside?

For this job I'd rather take it to someone rather than attempt it on my own.

The upper A-Arms from what I have read can be tricky on these old 'lacs and I'd rather not be the one at the controls of the press if something gets bent.

I have a press. If you weren't such a big you could borrow it.
What's left of a '96 Miata with stock clutch.
My car exceeds my driving ability. That's the only possible explanation.

He sells them, so maybe he understands his limits better than we do

Wow that is absolutely no help at all but I appreciate your effort!

What you offer up is like just randomly picking Miata Technologies out of the phone book since they have the prettiest ad!

What I am looking for is a recommendation from someone who has found and used a machine shop for a similar project.

It is really surprising that no one has spoken up. I would have thought that most of the forum members would have needed to have A-Arm bushings removed from a 40 year old American tank at one time or another.

Or at least had it done on a Miata or other vehicle. I'm not the only kid with an old car on this forum (Nash, Mid Year Vette, Thunderbird, Edsel, and so on).

I do have a call in to the local Cadillac club (they aren't reall big on the interweb) to see if they have anyone that they use.

I also have a guy in Saginaw that has offer to help me out!

It seems to me that every thread on Miata bushing changes points to AJ. Not sure if anyone has done it on their own.
