If you conducted a poll of all the autocrossers on this board, they'll tell you that using Azenis as an all around tire is a smart thing to do. I know I feel that way!
So I am really wanting Aaron to get me race tires for my Miata for Christmas, but my Miata also needs street tires. So I REALLY need, 2 sets of tires and one additional set of wheels. $$$$$$ I was thinking of letting him off cheap and just buying one set of Falken Azenis in 215/45/R16. Have any of you autocrossed on these tires? How are they?
Or anyone have a nice set of 15" or 16" wheels with decent race tires on them?
Thanks,
Christin

WOW - he got one rightOriginally Posted by Treibenschnell
That is definitely the tire of choice in the Street Tire class. Several of those running race rubber for AX are on Azenis on the street.

Another vote for Azenis! Great for street and/or AX! A downside is I only got around 6000 miles out of my first set while doing double duty.
Yep, get the Falkens. Mileage may vary from driver to driver, but I got over 15K miles out of a set a couple of years ago on my daily driver/STS Neon autox car before retiring it from double duty.

If you're looking for a single set of tires to do double duty, then you can't go wrong with a set of Azenis. Great tires - they can be a little loud and they don't ride quite as smoothly as some other tires out there, but no one is going to confuse a Miata with a Cadillac anyway, Azenis or not.
