I dont know the weight differences between the two, but the NC had around 30 more hp than an NB give or take
I went and test drove a 2002 NB with 89k miles. It seemed to be in pretty good shape. It was some blue color that I'm told is "special." Every time I get in one of these cars I have fun. I love how small and light they feel. After the test drive my Mustang feels like such a boat. I can tell it has a lot more grunt to it, but it just feels so big and floaty. Anyway, I'm not sure if the NB feels quick enough. I've driven two 2008 NC tourings. The NC really felt more powerful to me. I know it has a bigger engine, but it weighs more too. Is the power/weight of NC that much better than the NB? I'm planning on driving another NB tonight if I can.

That is a nice looking blue if you like the tan interior and top that goes with it. For that miles that car is about a grand or more overpriced.

Ya, I know it's overpriced. I wouldn't pay that much for it. The car seemed to have some vibration or shudder to it. I don't know what is common with mx5's of that age, that's why I want to drive a couple of them to see what they should be like. I think the NC may suit my tastes better driving-wise, but the NB looks better...
Drive a cheap NA, I'm sure you'll be satisfied.

NC is not nearly as fun. Get a $2-3K NA and you'll be happy. Don't worry about mileage. They run forever (my 92 is at 238,000 miles and I would drive it anywhere).

The NC has 7 less ponies than the '04-'05 MSM NB's do.
Shimmy is common when the tires are not ballanced correctly or the rims get bent.

I enjoyed my brief drives in NCs. I think they would be the best daily driver, especially with the PRFHT.
