That's correct. Here are the gear ratios.

Lowering it a little is fine. Slamming it is not.

What tire do you plan on running? I'd initially say, go with the 275/315 setup with the Falkens.

2nd gear is still pretty long on the Z with that size rear tire. I'd suggest against the taller tire for 2 reasons:

    1. less width/grip
    2. more chance you'll have to go back to 1st gear

If the larger stagger between the front and rear causes a pushing problem I'd consider adjusting the rake on the car to bring the front lower and rear higher to help it rotate.

315 is the most common tire size used on the rear

combined with either 275 or 295 fronts, depending on brand

a stack of four Hoosiers that are the same size as a stack of Kuhmos will be about 2" taller

Hoosier is a more square shoulder, Kuhmo more rounded

both give about same wear, but Hoosier is much faster but Kuhmo is normally cheaper

What site do you plan on running at the most?
The Hoosier tire is not the best choice for Mineral Wells.
They really pick up the rocks there.

I think all the SS cars are running Hoosier tires.
The other Corvettes don't run S2000 or BMW events.

"Rear toe in" is your friend in a Corvette.

A rear hitch is not hard to install.

I going to run Tire Class this coming season. Falken Azeni's most likely.
