What do you wear? Favorite brands or drug store cheapies?

I just got a pair of Oakley Flak Jackets for bumming around and a pair of Ray Ban's for dressier occasions for V-Day.

I left a pair of those in a casino in Vegas last fall. Unfortunately it was one of those all-nighter kind of nights, and I couldn't remember which casino the following day.

I got a really nice pair of ray bans from Costco for an awesome price when I got my first miata along with some Vans classic slip-ons (to answer your other question) just for something to put on quick cause I can't clutch reliably in flip flops.

Next weird question should be what kind of hats do you guys drive in if any, lol.

$10 Target wraparounds. comfortable, inexpensive, and get the job done.
I only ever wear glasses in the car anyways.

I have a pair of Reptile Bushmaster sunglasses, very similar to the Asp sunglasses. I prefer a crystal glass lens due to the better scratch resistance. I was real suprised at how much of a difference the polarized lens made.

My experience with expensive glasses is that they are not any tougher than the cheap ones. I've been buying whatever $15-25 glasses I fancy lately.

Wouldnt have mattered anyway. I guarantee no one on the staff picked them up.

The pricier ones definitely hold up better IMHO than the cheapies. I have a pair of Revos I've had for almost 18 years. Aside from the dated styling they are still great sunglasses. I also have some abused Oakleys that I've had for nearly as long.

I went through some cheapies but they just get beat up and loose to quickly.

Here are the two pair I got.

I have prescription shades but they're all scratched up. I need to either get new lenses or sack up and get Lasik - then I could wear cheap-ass car wash sunglasses.

I think it depends on the brand and the style. I still have some 10 year old polarized Revos that I use for mountain biking, but I bought a pair of frameless Revos (similar to the Mauna Loas) and they didn't last a year before they came apart.

I think the biggest difference is the optics. All of the Revos and Maui Jims I've owned had great optics. I've bought several cheapo pairs of shades from Sunglass Warehouse, and the optics have been fine on some, not so great on others. The build quality has been on par with the expensive brands, but the materials are cut-rate.

I voted Rx, but actually, I am doing out since the optician can't seem to get new lenses into my frames without wrecking them

Hopefully, I will soon have really nice expensive polarized shades.

Nothing more than $10, the average live span for a pair of sunglasses for me is about a month. Any longer than that and they are broken or lost.

I have clip-ons that are made for my RX glasses, but they are pretty scratched up. I will probably get some RX sunglasses made this spring.
