Welcome
iv been into honda for awhile so a gave up my last honda..
for a few weeks iv looked into 240s and those are play out so much so i wanted to go a different rout and get a miata
soo i was doing a search and stuck with goin with miata and this is what i came up with
97 miata m edition w/ 91xxx montego blue, bone stock, hail damage on hood, little paint fading here and there
Looks like a nice car, if the hail damage is just on the hood that wouldn't be too expensive to have PDR'd (paintless dent removal). I have been told that there is a good PDR guy that comes out to our Wednesday night meets once in a great while and cuts us good deals and we have a PDR party, you might wanna lookout for that.
Welcome to the forum and to rear wheel drive.

welcome. nice car.
Welcome. Hate to tell you though, that's not an M-edition. 97M was a darker green with tan leather. The montego blue M edition was a 94 and also had tan interior.
You still got a nice ride and will have lots of fun with it. Congrats!

haha, this wasn't a joe special. It actually wasn't advertised as a "m", he was just confused by the vin description on autocheck.com. Regardless, he bought it for a very good price.
Good luck with the car brian. I'll see ya at the next auto-x
Nice ride.
You'll love how easy the Miata is to upgrade and maintain! FAR easier than a Honda for water pump/tb changes, etc.
For the 1.8, do yourself a quick favor and look at the hoses between the master brake cylinder and the engine. Those 2 hoses are the heater core hoses. Check them for oil gunk then check under the CAS (sensor on the back of the valve cover, just above the hoses) for oil drips.
There's an o-ring on the CAS that tends to leak. When that happens, the oil gets on those 2 hoses and weakens them. When they rupture, and they WILL if they have oil on them, you could lose coolant and damage the engine.
Other than that, the engine is just about bulletproof and will happily bounce off of the rev limiter and will easily survive missed downshifts. Honda engines won't survive those types of things well at all.

Lightness? What's that? I drive a PRHT!
sweet thnks for the info..ill go and check it now.
damn im loving this little car..
i just need a radio..get tired of hearing the wind lol
Do yourself a favor and go to Mazda-Nissan Heaven (wrecking yard) and get an OEM type radio. You don't want your top slashed over a radio.

Heck I have a radio from a 97 that you can have. My son replaced it with an aftermarket. All you have to do is donate $10.00 to this site and it's yours.
