Is that the part #? I see 9008
If so,
90089008L9008X9008XLFord 1962-89, 221, 351C, 351M, 351W, 400, 429, 460
Found it here: http://www.rhoadslifters.com/Pages/PartNumber.html
I would buy them, but I need 302 stuff.
Weird stuff
A set of Rhoads Lifters for a 289/302 FORD from about 1987, they still sell them for 109.00. These have been moved from garage to garage, never taken out of the box…Price dropp: 30.00
I’m in north Fort Worth, you can P/up here or I’m willing to meet you half way. I don’t want to bother with shipping.
PM me, Cash or PayPal preferred.

Your right, they jump from the 221 to the 351-I bought them for my 71 302 but never used them.
It shows a different part# for the 1992-2000, 302 5.0L. I will call tomorrow and verify if the 9008 is for the 302 before the changes to the 5.0.
Good catch!
I just sent off an email about this part#
3/8/2009: received a email confirming the # on the box is for the early 302.

If you get confirmation that they will fit on my motors (5.0 1991 or 1988 ), I will take them. I'll paypal you the $$$'s and you can give it to one of the AutoX Miata guys when you run into one and I can get it from them. If that doesn't work for you, we can figure out the details.

Dennis,
I have not received another reply yet. From the first Email. I sent it again for the information on the 5.0 1991 or 1988.

I received this email about the lifters...
Ken:
The 9008 is a flat tappet lifter used on hydraulic flat tappet camshafts for
small block Ford engines. I believe the 5.0 liter engine uses roller
lifters. If your engine has roller lifters, the correct part number is
1008, or 1008X for the V-Max.
Thank you for your interest.
Jack
So NoGo on the 5.0..
yes on the 289.
