Question Mazda Value Pads vs. Mazda Pads

So is the only difference one has a hardware kit and one doesn't or are the pads different??

    TIA

I think the value pads are the regular OEM's minus all the springs, clips, backing plates, etc.

    DO NOT BUY THESE!

The compound is not the same and they have no inital bite like the regular OEM pads. They might work ok on the street, but I had a set on the old NA for a couple of weeks and they were horrible.

just searched the pointy board and found this - october 2008

    I have the same question.
So I emailed Tommy at Trussville Mazda (finishlineperformance):
"I saw two choices on website:
Brake Pad Set - Front, SKU: NAY5-33-23ZC
Brake Pad Set Mazda Value Line Front 94-05 NS, SKU: NAY5-33-28ZA-MV
Beside the included hardwares, do Value Line pads use the same organic material as the normal OEM?"

    His answer: "Yes"

Why don't you call Mazdacomp and ask them? They should be able to get a BOM for the pad set and see of the actual pad P/Ns match from kit to kit.

I ended up just going TCB, whatever I was going to get was going to be better than what I had!

I'll report my finding when the value pads show up.

Are these the same? I just recently ordered some shift boots/etc from Tommy at finishlineperformance. They're located in Arlington, Virginia. When I go to the Trussville website, they're located in Birmingham, Alabama. I wouldn't think so but I keep seeing the two names associated together.

They aren't the same. Trussville is Trussville. Finishline is Rosenthal.

    PS
I emailed Mazdacomp and asked them the question about the value line pad material.

The guy at the parts dept in Waco said they were the same pads minus the extra bits. That was a couple years ago, I could feel no difference.

Is that "burnish procedure" thing new? I don't remember ever since that! Of course, no man need instructions anyway!
