    Who designed today's course???

The POSIV did OK for its first AX but needs a bit more work.

I would call the course a Porsche version of my course. I tend to design courses under the expectations of the SCCA crowd, such as 20’ gates and corners that allow more speed. Conversely, the PCA prefers narrower 10-12’ gates and tighter turns. It’s just two different philosophies and that’s what makes the different clubs unique. Anyway, it was fun and I enjoyed the day.

I really liked driving Miatamoto’s NC the second half of the day. The NCs are just a set of springs away from being great cars, and if the SCCA allows them in their eventual “STX2” class, I will consider either co-driving Miatamoto’s car or buying my own.

Overall pretty good day except for the 2 gates we measured at 8-9 feet wide which required a hard stab of the brakes in the M3 mid corner. Thanks to Ken O for the co-drive, the M3 was a blast and surprisingly very tossable, did not feel over 3,000 pounds and the power was awesome.

What times did you run? What was Smart's best?

    You talkin' to me?

I think I had a 56.2 clean and a 56.0+1 (my last run, don't remember hitting a cone anywhere). I think Smart was down to 52.0.

Not directly, but all who went. Trying to see how far off the M3 is in STU.

I think the fastest Miata (Moto in his 06 MX-5) was a 57.8 not sure about everyone else.

I believe my fastest time was a 61.9, and I was under the impression it was a clean run per the timing board, but when I saw the time on the side of the timing truck it had a +1 on it. Later in the day I ran a 62.0, clean (that I know).

Anyone get any pics of my blue Toyota wagon out on course?

I can only assume they'll post the times here at some point: http://mav.pca.org/Events/Autocross/ytd.asp

I don't know what all my times were, but I'm pretty sure that my next to last run was my best at 63.001 +0. That run felt really clean and tight, I put together everything pretty well, no real bobbles or hesitations and decent lines. A few more years at this and I might actually be competitive! Oh, and owning my own car and getting used to how it drives instead of having to learn a new car at every event. That might help too, but I'm working on that part.

It will be days and often weeks before they post the results.

If you were in the Yaris, you never ran faster then high 63's. I was in your class and ran the best time of a 63.2.

Ohhhh, ok gothca. I thought when you said Yota it was the Yuris. And there was someone out there taking alot of pics. They will probably be posted up on the PCA site sometime down the road. They have pics from their previous events on the site. BTW what all is done to the Matrix?

It's stock with the exception of Tein SS coilovers (up'd rear springs to 7k, kit comes w/ 5k all around), Progress rear sway, TRD strut bar, and the RPF1s.

It has the same 2zz engine as the NA Elise/Exige, except with 50% more car to move around, taller gearing, and a higher center of gravity, lol.

I don't understand the scoring system. My fastest clean run was a 62.095 but on the summary it's marked as a 63.095. I'm #76.

I got a cone to my fastest overall run (by .4 secs), but I somehow didn't get a cone called on the run where I totally smashed one head-on, lol
