Where are you located? I did a full system in my Miata. I can help but I'm in McKinney.

    POS Racing,

Thanks for the link. I had been looking at those, and the reviews suggest that they are alright..

Thanks for the offer, I am actually in bedford, so it would be quite the drive. I think that I am going to install them by myself up to the point where they need to be plugged into the unit. I am looking to upgrade my unit, so I will just have them connect the speakers when they install the unit.

Default I've got the 3rd millenium speakers if you want a demo.

I bought and installed a set of the 3rd millenium speakers in my headrests this past summer. I live in NRH near Birdville High School. You're welcome to come by and check them out before you order a set if you'd like. just PM me.

They're not bad (although not quite as good as I had hoped) and are easy to install if you're just replacing the existing stock speakers. If I was really into car audio I'd probably try to install better aftermarket speakers which would be way more labor intensive to install.

Keifer, I ended up buying the 3rd millenium speakers, simply because I didn't have existing speakers or mounts, and they don't look too difficult to install. I am not crazy about spending a lot of money for speakers, so these will likely do.

trxdam - I may have to take you up on that. I am going to try to do it myself just for learning purposes, but if I get stuck I may contact you.

Cool, looks like a nice kit.

I noticed they have a "kit" for the Stiebel Nautilus compact air horn (the exact same horn I have on my Vue - sounds great and is pretty darn loud)... their kit consists of a small piece of metal (aluminum maybe stainless steel?) with holes drilled in either side and an extra bolt.

I think I bought my horn for $40. That puts their "kit" at $18+ for a 2" piece of metal with a couple holes... Srsly, that's all that they added from what they show in the picture. The other parts come with the horn.

Ok, they crimped a ground loop and a clip onto a piece of wire too... That'd save me about 30 seconds of effort during this install, but then again I have a big toolbox full of electrical wiring stuff for just such occasions...

I made my own aluminum bracket. It's waaayy nicer than theirs.

I positioned the horn pointing forward with the bell at the bottom so it's self-draining.

    Default door speakers

Another quick question. As far as switching out the speakers in my car doors. With simple low end speakers, is it as simple as removing the door panel, unscrewing the old speaker and switching the wires on the new one (soldering in the new ones I presume)...I wouldn't need to pull out the head unit and redo any wiring would I? Thanks for your help.

It's that simple. You could crimp spade plugs on the wire ends if you don't want to solder.
