    Default Howdy Ya'll

It's taken me a couple of days to get this posted, but I wanted to so you know who I am and what I am about:

Hobbies: Cars, computers, music, Internet...you know, the normal stuff

    Miata: 1995 1.8L 5 Speed (http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3338881)

I bought this car from a guy here in Denton, it was a nice deal, got it down to 1900.00, not the 1500.00 I was shooting for But we know the story of that Miata

I love cars. I buy buy them, clean em up and love them for a while and move on to the next one. Except this time, the Miata has earned a lifelong place in my heart. These things are incredibly fast and fun to drive! I have owned: 92 eclipse, 93 Probe GT, 91 Corvette, 93 Mazda B2600i (truck), 95 Mustang GT. (mostly cars from my past that I always wanted but couldn't buy back them). After spending a year or two on the cars, I would find the next one. Being the good husband I am, my wife said I could keep all the cars I buy, as long as we had a garage space for them. Well, you can imagine, spending xxx,xxx thousands on a new house, or a couple grand for each car then selling them? I chose the cheaper route

The only car I regret selling was the 1993 Probe GT, back when I sold it I was looking for my next one (which ended up being the Miata). The GT was, what I later learned, one of those "God, why did I sell that?!?!?" life lessons. It had 47,000 original miles, and not a ding on it. In classic car terms, it was mint, but I stupidly sold it.

But, to my surprise, the Miata has stirred up a passion in me. These cars are beautiful little roadsters, and a blast to drive. My wife was originally against it, considering the size, but when she drove it, it was instant love

I am talking her into getting a 2000-2003 Miata, I am really starting to like those body styles and the interiors. She always comes back to the "More cars, bigger garage...aka bigger house for momma" It's a never ending battle...maybe I should just rent storage units

That's it for me guys, if you ever need anything (helping hand, second set of eyes, or an opinion), just give me a shout.

    Glad to be here,
    TexasCoder

You could pretty much change the names and cars and use this as a bio for most of the people on this forum. You'll fit right in here, Welcome!!

The car I most regret was a '70 VW Bug bored and stroked to 2110cc with dual Weber 44s and custom hemi cut heads making 126 RWHP and 1800 lbs. empty weight. It was set up for eighth mile drag racing and I sold it in a fit of idiocy after spending 2 years building it.

We could all tell a similar story I'm sure.

'93 Ford Probe and classic car used in the same paragraph is not something I expected to see this morning. Made me giggle.

Got my wife her own Miata back in '02 she still drives the out of it but it just keeps going and going and going.

    Well anyway welcome to this!

    Welcome.
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.
