Default Why I'm glad I waited on Cosworth

Patience pays off. Looks like a voluntary recall. More info on Goodwin's forums.

So far no U.S. cars have exploded. 3 in Europe and 1 in Japan. Early word is the internals (connecting rods, crank, pistons, etc.) may be too weak. The 09's have beefier internals though.

Hmm... cosworth cams on the Evo IX are shearing as well (causing a total engine meltdown as you can imagine).

I think I'll be avoiding anything cosworth.

    Scary stuff indeed.

Never really considered it as an option because I'm a N/A guy, but I had thought about the Cosworth head and cams.

In 30+ years of FI experience I have never seen any OE parts that would not withstand a moderate amount of properly applied boost.....I.E. fuel and ignition management controls that prevent detonation.

I agree. My bet is on a crappy spark table, crappy fuel table, or even the extreme stupidity of changing the authority and cycle period for spark retard. I don't have much faith in AWIC on anything other than drag racing from personal experience.
