    Heat yes. 210* pivots? No.

I went home pretty upset with myself today. The course pwn'd me.

I never felt I had it down, it was just massive plowing/understeer crap. For the afternoon session, after watching Cosmo out there, I decide to try downshifting to 1st at different parts of the track, and, while it probably helped, I think it also threw me off in other areas. I'm usually a "put it in 2nd and forget about it" driver.

I'm not sure which run yielded my fastest time, but I don't think I ever went faster than low 65s.

Anyone else hit that massive bump coming out of the starting straightaway, in the braking zone to the first corner? I hit it on every run.

Yes, and I think it was actually a hole not a bump and unfortunately it was on the correct line for my car. I thought it was going to shake my car apart a few times.

I did not notice it when walking the course , but it sure felt like an earthquake when I hit it on every run.

My car exceeds my driving ability. That's the only possible explanation.

So how did the 2 Miata casualties fair on the homeward trip? I know jrj512 was having some engine roughness issues after the morning runs and switched to Miatamoto's car for the PM runs. And Darron65 was left with car that would not start at the end of the day. Everyone make it home ok?

I saw vultures circling in my rear view mirror not long after leaving, so I assume that Darren65 didn't make it. Poor fella. I was able to make it home, and that's all that really important.

Too bad the Bimmer kids can't design a decent course. Pennington is one thing, but if you can't do it correctly at the bus lot that's just sad.

I used to play a lot with Lone Star BMWCCA in the early '00s. I remember their course designs got progressively worse and worse, incorporating lots of really slow pivot turns right before long acceleration zones or bizarre gimmick options until I just got tired of going.

Once I got it thru my thick skull that the best way around those pivots and sharp turns is to attack directly at full speed, downshift to 1st, pivot around and repeat, it was a pretty fun course. My clutch, tranny, brakes, and tires might not agree with the driver, though.

Ken, was your car flat yesterday? I think I saw the right rear low as I left for the day.

I just finished up the pics and put them on my photobucket. I was running Group 3, so I only took pics of the Group 1 and 2 morning sessions. I probably didn't get pics of many of your guys with the exception of Ken and Cosmos. Sorry guys.

I'll wait till I know which one of my runs was the fastest before I throw it up on youtube.

    Thanks for the pics!

Passenger rear tire needed a plug.

Ain't no rumble strips, special little markings or corner workers. I may try to make it when it gets cooler. You will need to instruct me.

The BMW is so smooth because it is so slow.

Is it up for sale yet? If not, I'm sure it's getting close!
