Thread: Where to get the best price on tires?

Default Where to get the best price on tires?

I'm thinking of getting new tyres for the new wheels. In the lead is Hankook RS-2 in a 225-45-15 unless someone convinces me otherwise.

The other option is a Toyo T1-R in 215-45-15.

Who has the best price shipped?
    ...and across the line.

I just got some quotes from him and for some tires (especially Nittos), he simply beats the pants off anyone else (like $50-80 cheaper than discounttiredirect). He's local too, so no shipping costs!

I usually order from Joe Specht at Tread Zone

He beat tire rack pricing on shaved Kumho XSs for jrj512's car last week. He also had extremely good pricing on the 225/45/15 Toyo R1Rs I bought earlier this year.

BTW, I'd definitely buy the RS2 over the T1R.

Does he mount them??? If so, sounds like a great deal. Usually thats were places like tirerack save you $$$$. Discount Tire may be more expensive, but if you buy a tire from us we charge very little for mounting/balancing. But if you bring us tires, just like other larger companies including NTB, the price to mount and balance goes up emensly.

Wow! Great prices on the Hankook @ $75 for the 225/45/15 with more expensive shipping it's still way cheaper than any where else I've found.

Yep... $75/tire (sorry, tyre) was too cheap to pass up. When I called this morning they had 40 in stock. Now they have 36.

Good things come to those who wait.

I just graduated from Toyo T1Rs to Hankook RS2s now. Bought four 215/40/17s from Rudy at Tire Rack for $49 apiece. $250.03 total with shipping.

He has some 215/40/16s too for $45 apiece. Tire Rack is selling RS2s at closeout price now. Production of that model has stopped.

Rudy at Tire Rack has 1 225/45/15 RS2 remaining. 225 RS2's everywhere else are gone. Treadzone sold me 4 225/45/15 RS3's for $103ea. $18 shipping each to Longview.

are those kooks any good? TireRack has them in 265/35/18 for $99, which is a smokin deal in that size.

Not compared to the latest batch of "ultra" street tires. I had a set on my Miata four (?) years ago. They were fine, but didn't exactly blow me away.

They were close to the old RT-215 Azeni's, but wore much faster and weren't as sticky.

hmm... $60/tire less than the NT-05's/tire... but it sounds like they might not be worth much...
