I once tried to get a nail repaired at Wal-Mart and they told me they couldn't mount/dismount my tire cause the speed rating was too high. They can't handle the ZR ratings apparently, haha.
Speaking of local tire shops, I went to a nearby Firestone the other day to get 2 new tires mounted on my GF's car. I ordered them online from Vulcantire cause Tirerack's system refused to let me order only two tires. Oh well, their loss of business. Regardless, so I took the wheels/tires off of the car to the Firestone along with the new tires. As i'm in the process of unloading them from my car, the manager dude at the Firestone starts looking at the tires on my car (Dunlop Star Specs, 2k miles old, but already visibly abused from weekend badassery w/ you guys), and starts asking me if there's a problem with my car, cause the tires "look fairly new, but very beat around the edges." I told him they're okay and it's a result of my driving style, lolz.
So then he tells me that next time I want new tires, he can hook me up with a good price on some "Potenza G019s" that are "much better tires than those runflats you're currently running" lolz some more. I told him they weren't runflats, as i'd never buy a runflat tire ever, but he insisted my Star Specs "look like runflats" since they're very low profile. 225/45/17 is very low profile now?
Good times.
