Unhappy Anybody have a TCB 1999 or 2000 NB ignition coil?

The '99 keeps slowly running worse all the time. Almost bogged down and stalled out on me a few times this weekend. Did a little piddling with it last night and I'm pretty sure it's the ignition coil (Specifically the #4 cylinder). I hooked up a HF spark plug tester on each of the cylinders and every time the engine missed #4 wasn't getting any spark.

Just recently replaced the plugs with NGK plugs and wires with NGK blues (probably around 3k miles ago) but I'm going to swap out the plug and wire on #4 tonight just for grins.

I'd rather not fork out $200 to $250 for a new module without being absolutely sure that's the problem. Anybody have a good TCB coil for a 1999 or 2000 lying around that they'd like to part with relatively cheap? Looking online it looks like the 90-97 and 2001+ are different part #'s.

    Thanks.

2001+ has coil on plug ignition with variable valve timing.
http://www.boundaryengineering.com/cop.php for coil on plug ignition upgrade for your 99-00. Little pricey but you could be the first kid on the block to have one...
I drive to fast to worry about my cholesterol.

Hopefully you haven't killed your . One of the bonuses to go along with the misfire is a dead cat. Any CEL codes thrown lately?

Check with Rogue or Gary/JohnWags for a used one.

Yep, I wouldn't be suprised if the isn't toast. First I had the plugged intake manifold/EGR problems a while back and now the coil. both known for :: killing.

The CEL isn't lit. Thought I'd take it to vatozone and have them check if there are any codes stored in memory. As bad as it's running now I'm suprised it's not lighting up.

Figured I'd post up tonight and then check with Rogue and Gary tomorrow.

That's pretty cool. unfortunately my car isn't worthy of it. It'd be like putting diamonds on a pig.

Besides that it would bump me out of stock class for AX. I'd probably wind up in STS class or something and I hear those guys are a bunch of whiners

I tried a few things tonight to try to positively convince myself that it was the coil but the car pretty much was running fine and I couldn't get #4 to miss like yesterday. Took it to vatozone but there weren't any codes stored.

Kind of at a loss at what else it could be. Seems like a cat would be an constant problem as opposed to an intermittent problem. Only other thing I can think of would be a fuel pump possibly getting flakey?

At this point I'm not sure what to do other than change out the coil and if that doesn't do the trick move on the next guess (or more likely go see Rogue).

Ran better with an old wire and plug on #4. Then I put the newer wire and plug back on and it still ran ok. I still wouldn't say it ran great but it was definitely better. drove into work this morning with no problem. I still think there's a problem but not sure what planets need to align causing it to get really bad.
