    Default We've go an owl

Leilane noticed an owl outside in one of the trees tonight. I thought it was pretty cool since this is the first time that I have seen a owl in the wild... and in my yard!

The neighbors said that it is a common resident and likes to hang out on our roof.

I spotted one in the tree at our old house in North Dallas a few times. They are pretty cool.

I can totally see JrJ512 crawling quietly into the front yard with his HERO Go Pro auto-x camera suctioned to his forehead to take this pic.

That's awesome!! I doubt you'll have any trouble with mice or squirrels for a few years.

A few years ago there was a huge storm around my moms house, they were driving down the road and there was what they thought was a dead owl in the road. Stopped and picked it up and it was injured and disoriented and was drowning in a big puddle. They picked him up and nursed him back to health. They said he hung around their property for a year or so after.

It was really cool I got to hold him with welding gloves on (really just pearch his feet on my hand). I have a picture somewhere with him on my hand with his wings spread out with about a 2.5 - 3 foot wingspan. It's amazing to be that close to such a powerful creature.
