Thread: Need a fluorescent tube

    Default Need a fluorescent tube

I need a T8 tube, 24" length for my kitchen. It needs to be warm white or similar to match the rest of the bulbs in the room. I've tried Lowes and Home Depot, all they have is cool white.

Anybody know where I can get one?

Try a pet store that carries aquarium supplies.

On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

Actually, The Home Depot's I frequent have several different types, but as the tubes get older, they tend to yellow and dim a bit. Even if you got a brand new exact tube of the ones you have, it will still look different than all of the rest of them. Look at the color range of the bulbs tha you currently have, i.e. 6400K, 4800k, etc. and see if you can match that up.

Thanks guys. I know the new one won't be an exact match, just needs to be similar. Cool white is not even close. It's one of 4 undercabinet lamps. The rest all have their original bulbs which have no color markings at all.
I guess 11 years is pretty long life even for a fluorescent. Maybe I'll splurge and replace them all!
