You were torqueing the rain rail in inch lbs, right?

I wasn't using a torque wrench. It didn't call for any torque specs in any of the install instructions that I saw. I don't have a torque wrench that would fit in the small space anyway.

But that's the thing. I wasn't giving them hell I was just snugging them up normally when it snapped. It could have been cross threaded. I had problems with that one from the start, kept cross threading. I thought I finally had it right though when I drove it on in.

It might have been damaged previousely, or bent, it got real tight halfway on, still had some to go when it snapped...I admit, I may have overdone it, I was frustrated by this point, but it seemed to have sapped under less torque than I applied to all the others. It didn't really snap, it just slowly twisted off.

70-85 inch lbs is what's called for, so it doesn't take much. Inch pound torque wrench costs something like $12 at Harbor Freight.

I need to go to that place with money in my pocket. I've heard great things...

If its that much I could have just twisted the bolt off. But is still had room to travel. Oh well. Any idea how to replace one of the studs? I'm going to check for leaks next rain. If its dry I'm not going to worry about it.

I'd check it out with a garden hose today and if there's no leaks, consider it finished. Looks good in the pics.
