Thread: VVT Engine Oil Pump?

    Default VVT Engine Oil Pump?

Did Mazda upgrade the pressure rating of the oil pumps used on the VVT engines? Something I read the other day on the Maruha website indicated that pressure was increased because of the VVT mechanism, but I have never heard of this before. If true, it could be a TCB upgrade.

Yes, the VVT has an upgraded pump, not sure on the part number though.

BP6D-14-100 $199 @ MMD or $277 @ MiataRoadster Might be a good cheap upgrade if you are rebuilding the engine and don't want/need to spend the big bucks for the ones from Boundary Engineering.

I'll take a Boundary pump with gears.
