I didn't think you could feel less than a 3.0 much less hear it. Was there a gas main explosion or something?
Glad they're ok.
My mom calls to chat this evening and tells me there was an earthquake on Sunday night that woke her up (she sleeps very sound). She said there was a loud boom and that the house shook. So, I go to the USGS website and find out the epicenter of the 2.6 earthquake is within a mile of her house! (see attached map. red square = epicenter, purple square= mom's house. the grid on the USGS map is 1 mile squares). My stepdad said he felt several aftershocks the last two days. AND I saw there was another 2.7 earthquake in August very nearby.
I lived in the area for 25 years and never felt anything. Now there are all these small earthquakes. We must be near the end of the world!

There are tons of fault lines that run thru the entire area. I'm not surprised.
I think it was all a publicity stunt for 2012.![]()
