thinking of replacing the top on my NA, should i tackle this myself or have a pro or semi pro do the job?

Might depend on your circumstances. Do you have a garage or a hardtop or another car? If no to all of these, I'd consider farming out this particular job.

If you've got any of those three things, though, you can take your time with the top change...if you're patient. Would be a good experience, and afterward you can proudly say "yeah, I did that myself!"

I did most of mine in an afternoon. It was fairly easy removing the frame from the car and installing it on the garage floor.

Check the Garage section on Miata.net. Should be a good write-up there with pics.

Just don't buy the Robbins Streamline top for NA. Terrible top, stick with the Robbins OEM tops.

Easy to do yourself. you may want to wait until the weather is a bit warmer. It will be hard to stretch the fabric right now.
