    It only works with a really loose belt. When I was running 1/8 mile drags in a beetle we used to remove the belt like that before every pass but you had to put extra shims in the pulley to get the belt loose enough.

    -and it's never good for a street car. That pulley also drives the only cooling the car has. :)
