    Default homemade defroster pigtail

I case anyone is thinking of buying one of these $120 lampcords, please don't. Super easy to make. I read how to make it on M.net, but it was kindof tough to find so I thought i'd post it here for all of us TCBs.

I made mine out of speaker wire, wrapped it around a screwdriver and heated it with a lighter to make it curley, then used shrinkwrap to make it pretty. All it really needs though is two connectors on one end and the other end one wire split into two connectors(this one is basically just a jumper between the two pins to tell the defrost light to come on) and a connector on the other wire.

Also in case anyone was wondering like me what the hell goes in place of the missing low fuel light here you go.

I found the dash switch and relay at a junk yard.

Total cost, about $15 including a new soldering gun. I think that's TCB approved.

Now if only someone could come up with a TCB answer to the fuse block, defroster relay, and timer relay I need to make my hardtop defroster work. Mine came with the pigtail, but those other parts run $110. I just can't justify that much money for a defroster I only rarely wish would work.

Check junk yards. I may have gotten super lucky but I found a car that had both the dash switch and the relay.

The fuse block, I already had since I used to have a power antenna. You probably have a good chance of finding one of those at a junk yard or getting one from somebody that got rid of their power antenna since alot of cars had them.
