I've heard of folks getting some really cherry deals on the NB on the lots... I wonder if that's going to stop now that they have limited supply.
... now might be the time to buy. Mazda has confirmed that no more NB Miatas will ever be built, due to the fire at the factory in Japan. Instead, once the factory is repaired, they will be ramping up production of the other models (RX-8, Mazda3) that were built at that factory to comply with demand. Instead of rebuilding to produce the NB for a month or two before NC production starts, they've decided to forget it altogether.
So, if you want a new NB, don't waste time, 'cause what you see on dealer lots is all you're going to get. Ever.
In a way, it's kinda sad. I hope the NC lives up to all of the hype surrounding it.

I doubt it. The discounts should get even deeper the longer they sit on lots. The NB body style is not going to be the current generation before too long.
Most dealers are sitting on an ample supply of '04s and a few '05s.
I'm sure the dealers aren't going to try and play on the fact the car isn't being made anymore.
Since the dealer is typically the last one to know anything concrete, they probably won't find out that the NB has stopped being produced until April or so.
Of course, I'd expect that as soon as the dealers figure out what's happening that any remaining NBs will be dressed up with crappy two-tone leather, cheap chrome aftermarket wheels, pinstripes, and sold with a $5000 markup as "Swan Song Editions", or something equally cheesy.

$7000 off MSRP on all 04 Mazdaspeed Miata's. $4000 Rebate $3000 Hiley Discount.
So what the bet that they revoke that as soon as they get wise!?
You must not have noted the dealer who has this offer! J/K.Originally Posted by Treibenschnell
They still have '04's so not getting as many '05's may be a good thing for a dealer. Especially when the NC hype starts gaining ground!
In that case, let's hope they get cranking on production.
