I still think an NC with $5k in mods is a much better upgrade than an S2K.

The only reason I was considering the kit was simply if I was going to keep the GTI for another few years I dont know if I could deal with knowing I did not pick up the kit when I had such an amazing opportunity to do so. Plus it makes the GTI faster then an E92 M3 in a straight line, and that is not particularly slow.

Ah now we're at the root of the problem.

You've not learned yet that every "deal" you come across isn't one that you have to complete.

If I had all the money back that I'd spent on "deals" over the years I'd likely be able to retire. It's a very hard lesson to learn.

Honestly you should take the advice that people are giving you: quit talking about s2k's or dropping FI into your current car.

Yeah, I think I will pass on the kit for sure. However, trading in for an S2K will be something that I will always be on the lookout for. Until then though, just gotta keep trying to improve myself while driving the GTI.

Of the AP2, S2000's for STR the 06+ is a much better car because you can reprogram the ECU to get rid of the Vtec bump and get a lot more mid range power and raise the rev limiter.

New cars (or new to you) are never a "smart" money move, but if you want an S2000 and it's within you budget go for it. Life's short.
