I'm not sure the dog would be any better off at the dog pound. A pit bull probably doesn't have a chance in hell of finding a good home if she's sitting at the city pound (see: Mike Vick).

I was thinking the same thing... even some no kill shelters have to make exceptions with pit bulls. maybe ill call an independant shelter like operation kindness or something.

POS, the wife and I just came back to Walmart, and just from the time we left/returned there were a ton more trees down in the neighborhood. A tree split in half and landed on a car, and another blocking most of the road over on Fort Concho. It's pretty wild to see all of this here in TX. I need to go out and make the 7ft snowman taller now.

According to the news last night, yesterday was the most snow ever recorded in a single day for the Metromess. Work woke me up around 2am this morning and it was still coming down.

10.5" of snow in my front yard.

They just suggested on the news that you leave your porch light on all day. That way if there are power outage issues in your neighborhood, the crews can tell more easily who has lights

Anyone has to in the office today? I am one of the "essential personnel" and has to show up. Actually it was not any problem for me driving my Saabaru.

Was outside last night watching the sky light up from transformers blowing when I heard cracking noises coming from the live oak that is over our driveway. Jumped into the miata to move it, but the tires just spun, so ended up pushing it out to the street. This is what my driveway looked like this morning.

Glad to see you saved the car cam!

I feel your pain. It took me about 15 minutes to get my car up the driveway and in the garage last night. My wife got a good laugh out of watching me spinning the tires and rotating the car into the garage.

It was pretty comical, pushing, slipping, falling down in the slush, rushing to move it before the branches start coming down. I'm grateful I just happened to be outside to hear it before it was too late.

A friend of mine works for Texas Capital Bank. They got a bunch of hotel rooms at the hotel near the office for everyone last night so that they could still work today.

Our office is officially closed, so everybody is supposed to be working from home today. I'll just say that it's suspiciously un-busy. If it keeps up I'm going to go fart off this afternoon.

Blockbuster used to do that for us when I worked in support there.

Today the power is out in the office so I'm "working" from home.

You should grab the dogs and go shack up at Sammm's. I'm sure the cats would love it.

Got to the office at 7am. The roads were actually better this morning then last night at 9 when I was out playing in the Jeep.

Did not have any problems with the drive in. And yes I am considered an essential employee, that is one reason why I bought the Jeep.

No problems with the roads only problem I had was when all of the snow on the top of the cab slid off over the windshield, total white out and the wipers would not move it. I was lucky that it happend at a stop light and I was going slow I was able to get out of the way inorder to get the snow off the windshield. Next time I will remove the snow from the top of the truck.
