my first question is why the hell is Kevin Smith flying southwest, you would think he could afford to fly a little higher class.

Saw this on the news tonite and I thought they said he bought two seats. So if that's true there is something missing from the story.

He's probably 325-340 so he would need more than one seat. He even admitted to breaking a toilet before.

I suspect he was on Southwest because was flying between Oakland and Burbank. Southwest connects all the mid-sized airports in California just like they do in Texas, and I don't think any of the other carriers do. That leaves him on SW or chartering a flight.

By the way, he has gotten bigger over the last few years.

He should view this as a wake-up call to lose weight.

Titus is right. He has packed on some serious pounds in the last couple of years. I saw him at the his Q&A at the House of Blues a few months ago and was caught off guard when he walked on stage.

He did buy two seats, but apparently this was related to his not being able to lower both arm rests to the satisfaction of the flight attendant (and ultimately the captain). He claims there was someone bigger than him on that flight, but he didn't rat the guy out. He did what everyone said they think (in surveys) should have to do, purchase two seats. It doesn't look like he was an inconvenience or a verifiable safety hazard to the other passengers or flight (they claim that he wouldn't be able to evacuate fast enough initially) so SW is going to continue to be the bad guy here. Guess KS should be glad she didn't break a toilet on the plane!

Good call. I did not know that.

I find it interesting that everyone is more concerned about Southwest's policies than his weight problem.

Both Smith and the airline acknowledged that he had bought two seats for his original flight from Oakland, where he had spoken at the Macworld Expo conference.

But he was flying standby in order to catch an earlier flight, and only one was available.

I was a big fan of Viewaskew but he has run out of ideas. Jersey girl was just the start of the slippery slope. I hope he makes a "big turnaround", and gets back to funny in a Jersey sort of way. Maybe he was seated next to Gabriel Iglesias or something.

I seriously doubt that "Cop Out" is any kind of return for him. I'll watch it (who doesn't like Bruce Willis?), but I have very low expectations for it.

Are you kidding? I thought they all still got together for family weekends and scrubbed their balls together... all three of them.

I guess that's how they came to do "Cop Out" together. Was he wearing a denim skirt? He sure has some strong little ankles.

He doesn't talk shit about him does he? He gets asked to rewrite a scene and ultimately working on that movie with him is why he's directing a Cop movie with BW in it. Am I not remembering part of of KS's bit?
