    Garage Door Update -

Well, the good news is the door will be fixed... that is to say, I'll be getting a whole new garage door! Better than the last one... insulated, nice long warranty, free installation, and no interest until May 2006.

Basically, what it came down to was this - to have a pro replace the tension spring would have run about $200. To replace the bottom dented panel of the door would have run $190 just for the panel... not knowing what labor for that would have been. So, in all honesty, and thanks to the tireless shopping that my wife undertook, we got a helluva deal on a better door installed for free! Now I just have to wait until the middle of this week...

Yea it would have been neat if 3Bean had hooked his solution on his original post, because if you missed his original post you'd have no clue what he is posting today!

    She's a champ!

Believe me, I was ready to plunk down cold cash just to get this done... but TC gave me this idea about just replacing the whole damn thing.

Well, Gwen and I got to doing the numbers... and well, it really was alot more cost effective to purchase a whole new door! So, sometime later this week, Home Depot will be dropping by with my new 16x7 insulated door complete with all hardware, springs, locks, etc....

That's the type of doors I have. Aluminum exterior and insulated panels on the inside. I just looked and and I don't even have that giant coil spring across the top. I guess that's only needed for the heavy wooden doors.

I do, so maybe he can look at my bbs wheels. This swap is costing my WIFE too much money.
Hmm what is decent? Are we talking about your decent or my decent? I'm just curious because I don't want to offend anyone else's decent...
