Thread: The New Kid

    Default The New Kid

    Hello all,

My father passed away suddenly back in december, and I've inherited his project miata. It's a 1990 with 143k on the clock that he picked up for $1000 (with a hardtop!)

I'm in the middle of the suspension refresh right now, hopefully it'll be back on the road before too long. Here are some pics we took after we finished the wheels and paintjob:

    Cheers,

    Taylor

Welcome aboard :) Good to see the Miata stayed in the family. I would comment on your car but can't see the pictures from work.

Looks good. Welcome! Sorry to hear about your Dad. I lost my dad too but he only left me a beat up old truck.

I'm still on the fence about that one. I'm going to get it road worthy and drive it around for a bit before I decide

Well we were in the middle of the suspension install when dad died, so I'm trying to finish that up. But you know how it goes with a 20 year old car, you fix one thing only to find two more that need attention. It starts and runs like a champ, it just needs to get it's legs back.

I'll be installing urethane bushings, tokico illumina shocks and FM springs, FM frame rails, r-pkg tie rod ends, Baer decelerotors and hawk pads over the course of the next week or so. I'll also be replacing those turn signals and side markers with the stock ones.

I'll also be removing the next to new soft top and selling it with the frame, so keep an eye on the classifieds for that one.

It's not that far to TMS - come see what you can do with a Miata this Saturday!

Welcome! I am 100% sure I still have the stock front and side markers if you haven't picked them up just yet. I am only 87% sure where they are in the garage though.
