    I got my helmet at a motorcycle shop. Just make sure that it is SNELL certified.

    The BMW club is supposed to require a membership after the first event, but they rarely enforce it. However, if you like their events and you plan to attend several, then it is a better deal to get a membership.

    I think ER membership is only $15 and you get $5 off each event, so that is a bargain if you plan to run four or more.

    PCA membership requires that you own a Porsche, or at least grab the VIN from one for sale on autotrader.com.
