Tanner Foust just drifts everything and gives so so reviews from his prior show...can't think of the name of it.
So apparently, Top Gear USA is on again. This time with Tanner Foust, some comedian I've never heard of (Adam Ferrera?) and some fat dude from NASCAR (Rutledge Wood).
Sounds like a winner, doesn't it?![]()
Shamelessly stolen from the comments:
(Richard Hammond voice)
Right. We all know that American television is a dreadfully dull affair- nothing but fast food commercials, reality shows about people's mum dancing or singing and football that isn't really football. So with this in mind, the producers have come up with a challenge:
Make a version of Top Gear that appeals to Americans, but is still quality entertainment.
(cut to James May)
In order to do this, we must somehow combine reviews of automobiles- shot in the traditional Top Gear fashion, naturally- with content and personalities that will appeal to the audience in The Colonies. We must bear in mind however, that the average American has very different tastes and humor than we do, nor do the majority of daft celebrities in America know a lick about cars.
(cut to Jeremy Clarkson)
So we set off on our challenge: To make a new version of a decidedly British television show that would somehow be the same, yet different enough to appeal to Americans.
How hard could it be?

I think it's called Supercars Exposed. Whiney Adam Ferrera I won't watch. Don't know who the third guy is.
Sounds like a flop to me... I'll stick to the BBC

Wait...doesn't that douchebag looking host already have another show on Food Network??

I think the mere mentioning of NASCAR and drifting pretty much sums up where this show is heading, sad. They should have just named it something else and kept it with all the west coast chopper type shows.
I just hope they keep the (somewhat) original show running on BBC America.

Jay Leno should be one host. Or find people that truly live and breathe cars. Its gonna be hard to beat the BBC model. Those guys are funny even if it is british humor. Jermey Clarkson is my favorite host in that show followed by Hammond. Captain Slow is eh.

I'll give it a shot, but my hopes certainly aren't high. The Aussie version sucked; maybe the History Channel can do better?
