Default Glad to have a Miata

Yesterday, I was driving home after another long day at work, with the top dropped. Traffic was pretty dense, in more than one sense of the word. Near the end of the drive, on 35W southbound, I looked in my mirror, and a blond lady in a newer NB (also top-down) waved. I waved back, and she cut across a couple of lanes to an open spot, and momentarily was ahead of me. I stayed in my lane, and ended up passing her. She made some moves, ended up ahead of me, and waved. I made some moves, ended up a little ahead of her, and waved back. She made some lane changes, ended up in the lead, and waved again. I did the same. This continued for a few miles until she exited, and made the last part of what would otherwise have been a boring commute enjoyable.

I realize that I must have a really boring life if that was the excitement for the day. It did make an otherwise boring day more memorable. It did leave me with a question, though - if I wave back to someone in a Miata, does that mean the race is on?

Hey, you have to take what you can get in Dallas traffic. The crazy drivers around here is one of the main reasons I don't do much driving anymore.

As far as waving goes, not necessarily. I never got any waves back, so I usually don't bother. Went for a drive today and the only convertibles I saw with the tops up were BMW's, lol. Spotted a red NB headed east on Campbell Rd in Richardson, and a yellow one headed northbound on the Trollway. Both looked, but never waved.

No, but when she waves repeatedly it means you should have taken her exit too.

If I wasn't married, that may have been a good idea.
