Stupid work and it's red x's. Have to wait til later I guess.
I just got my Sparco seat buttoned down and ready to go. I'm going to leave it in for a while to see how comfy it is, but early returns are very good. Can't wait to get it on the track!
I made the mounts myself out of some beefy 3" aluminum angle (6061 T6, 1/4" - overkill of the highest order). The seat bolts up to the mounts, the mounts bolt to the tracks, and the seat still sits a tad lower than stock - so it's perfect for me.
Thanks to Swiftracing for the Simpson harness! Now I need a strap to hook up the 5th point - I've got all the other hardware, and the harness is set up for 5 attachment points.
Anyhow... here are some pix for your enjoyment...

Trickyrix,
Can we do a "butt test" of your new seats? Sweet!
Gabriel
Is your belts only 4-points? What are you thinking, baby blue? Is there that much room between the seat and your bracket for the bolt to bolt onto the OEM rail?
Gabriel
I can see, I can see. Thanks Rick. Looks pretty confortable. I like it, but not as much as your pimp seats.

Yes, but you have to leave your pants on...
The belt is a 5-point, but the crotch strap is missing. I've got all the hardware to hook one up, though. Yeah, I woulda preferred red, but this one was a freebie... the ultimate in TCB-friendly!
Yes and no... There are threaded bosses on the bottom of the seat that are also intended as mounting points. The bolts on my bracket clear the bosses on the left side of the seat by a mile - I could've mounted the bracket flush with those bosses and my bolts would've cleared. However, on the right side of the seat, the front boss will interfere with my bolt if it goes much lower - because the seat is slightly offset in relation to the OEM rail. I may see what it takes to remove the offending boss to get the seat a little lower, but it ain't bad right now.
I just got back from a 1.5-hour shakedown and the seat is pretty cushy. My only complaint? The front thigh support is tall and not quite compatible with my stubby little legs. However, with the cruise set, I can kick back and get my legs set for comfort. Down the road I may see if I can tweak that support so it's not so restrictive.

My awesome wife ordered me a sparco speed 2 for my birthday![]()
I don't know which brackets I need to order for it though? I'd like the seat to be as low as possible but I don't want to bolt it directly to the floor. Should I get the side mount brackets? Do I need anything else?
Thanks!

I have a set of the sparco side mount brackets, setup on my Sparco Roadsters. You can get the seat very low; but it is a pain in the ass to get it just right. My seats are all the way down and all the way back. It took me well over an hour, per seat, to get it the way I wanted. The screws on the console side are a PITA. And the bolts holding the rear down are a bear as well. I had to modify the bracket (Grinder/Bandsaw) to get it just right.
Blah blah blah!
