I heard about this guy Stevan who could work on anything. I think he lives out at Propwash.

I think Titus does Mini's.
I have done a PS Pump, front pads/rotors, and oil change myself. Those were all pretty pedestrian. When I needed the head replaced, I found a guy (MiniPaul) through MetroplexMINI.org that was a former MINI of Dallas employee and was working for Hancock Mazda at the time. He came over to my house and did the work in my shop for a good price. Shortly after that we were about 12k miles in to ownership and had just replaced our second set of crazy expensive run-flats, so it was dumped at Carmax.
As I recall from my research at the time, there was also a shop in Lewisville that people recommended as an alternative to dealer service.
