Default Alright, between these two which one should I get

I've narrowed it down to these two. Seen and drove them both.

First is a 1995 triple black-black top, interior, and exterior. Has typical paint chips. Only 118,00 miles on it, brand new top with glass window, hard dog m1 roll bar, kyb adjustable shocks, eibach springs, fat cat motorsports bumpstops, new timing belt and water pump. Has the package with headrest speakers, ac, power steering, torsen, and leather wrapped steering wheel. cloth seats.
Everything works, it has been well maintained. Asking price is 4,800 but I'm thinking he'll take 3,800-4,200.

Second is a 1994 m edition, is going to need a paint or wrap job, has a brg hard top, softtop has two pencil side holes that have been patched, has soft top cover, a cover that covers the passenger seat and back also, leather is in decent condition, car drives perfectly, ac works, and asking price is 3,000 cash, so 2,500-2,800 should be reasonable.

If I get the m edition I plan to upgrade the suspension, and as I get more money have it painted or wrapped.

The 1995 I plan to just get wheels and tires and a detail.

Which would you say is the best one for me?

tbh idk, I didn't know what the unit looked like till about 30 mins ago.

But I can say the brake master cylinder and the part that all the brake lines go through(can't recall the name of it for the life of me) were brand new

on the 95, the M1 roll bar and glass tops don't get along.

It has the right kind of top for it, so it actually does work :)

I'm really leaning towards the 94 tho

add up how much it's going to cost to do the upgrades you want and see if the already close to done one is a better deal for you.

Paint, unless you're going to do it yourself, is going to likely run you 1k+. Suspension, anywhere from $200 (for cheap Ebay coilovers) to 1500+. Rollbar, $450+shipping. New top when it needs it, $200 + install (or DIY). Seat covers or seats are $300+. How many miles on the 94? Tire condition on both? When was the timing belt done on the 94? You're looking at ~$200 in parts for the timing belt and water pump + labor/DIY.

So, spend money now or later?

Well I can get the 94 for 2,550, the 95 is stuck above 4,500.

I do not need a rollbar, and if I get the 95 I have to immediately invest in a padded wrap for it as my head hits and I do not want to have my head busted open in an accident lol.

The 94 comes with a hardtop, and the soft top doesnt leak. Also the seats in the 94 are in pretty decent condition, the driver side is only worn on the side and one crack in the back, still nice.

I forgot to put that, but the 94 just had the timing belt and water pump replaced also.

The 94 has 13X,XXX If I remember right, both have good but not new tires.

Or sell the roll bar on here

I think the 94, with the ht might be the better way. Sell the ht for $800 and you've got a dang cheap car...

    Haha thats my exact thoughts.

Here's the look I'm going to go for with it, does this improve handling? I plan to go coilovers.

Thanks for the info, I'll be sure to ask him about his setup.

Update well I talked the guy into taking $2,550 for the 94 and I'm going to get it tomorrow when he gets the title from the bank.

I couldn't pass up picking up a mechanically perfect car with a hard
top, I basically paid $1,700 for it without the hardtop

Just my 2 cents but I'd suggest keeping the hardtop. You'll end up missing it when it is gone and you have to pay a pretty penny for another one.
