I did not get any heartburn or indigestion. In fact I felt great :)
I'm ~2k cal with low fat, but you have to cheat sometimes :)
I wear a GoWearFit (http://www.bodymedia.com/, basically the same thing as a BodyBugg from the Biggest Loser). I put my meals into the software. I weigh my food, etc. as much as possible. Estimate when I eat out.
I burned > 4500cal/day this weekend (biking, painting, rearranging the house) and average ~3600 cal burn a day when I work out according to the thing.
I just count calories in my head, rounding to the nearest 50 on most items. I also have my day broken up and don't really let one time of day's overage affect what I do the rest of the day:
Breakfast: 250c
Mid-morning Snack: 150c
Lunch: 350c
Afternoon Snack: 150c
Dinner: 400c
Evening Snack: 200c
If I go out to lunch for work or dinner with the family, I will usually choose one of the more healthy options on the menu, but make no attempt to figure out what it cost me. I just continue on with my normal plan for the rest of the day. That probably accounts for 4 or 5 meals a week. Of course I usually completely ignore good choices one or 2 of those times (like Torchy's last night).
That Ace of Spades looks awesome. Gonna have to try that one.
Wish they'd bring back the Double Wide taco.
Oh, well I've got two sevens, and two sevens beats a frush.
Is it just me or has there been a lot of recent activity on the taco front here in DFW?
The Rusty Taco
Urban Taco
Taco Diner
Fuzzy's Taco Shop
Taco Joint
I've tried the first three with varied results. Rusty Taco was pretty mediocre, and kind of a zoo at lunch on a Saturday. Urban Taco is tasty but ridiculously overpriced (chalk that up to the Mockingbird Station location?). Taco Diner is pretty darn good, if a bit "artsy."
I've read good things about Fuzzy's, and they just put one in at Mockingbird and Abrams. The guys on The Ticket rave about the Taco Joint - especially their breakfast tacos & burritos. And I still need to try Torchy's...
Anyone tried any of the "new-wave gringo" taco joints besides Torchy's? Should we steer this thread toward general Taco Talk?![]()

Fuzzy's in Denton is good eatin', I haven't been to the one in Dallas. Rooster's next door to Fuzzy's is tasty bbq.

+1 on Fuzzy's (College Station one anyway). Even picked up a few "Eat Me" stickers for the miata...
Anotherfor Fuzzy's taco shop. Went to the arlington location last night, got the shrimp and fish tacos, they were bad ass, cheaper than Torchy's too.

Eh. Fuzzy's is just OK. Their chips are meh. Tacos seem to be a copy of what all the other boutique shops are doing.
Torchy's though - is fantastic. First I've heard they have a location in Dallas. I'll be sure to visit them next week.
Fuzzy's gets me by, I won't go into my BBQ tirade...but Taco Lady. Oh sweet Taco Lacy, you are my love. Tell me you've experienced the glory? What about la Mexicana? Also great with a superior gordita and Mexican steak, but inferior taco.
I also have a Dallas taco bias...Urban Taco. Its good, a bit more "modern", and peanut habenero salsa will murder your family. I drive to Urban Taco from Lewisville just for that salsa, lol.

Yep, every restaurant in town is jumping on the taco bandwagon. Even Taco Bell offers an upgraded soft taco with fresh cilantro and lime.
