Question Are all NA cooling fans the same?

    Howdy all,

I've just discovered that my cooling fan (i.e. driver's side, NOT the a/c fan) is kaput, thereby explaining why my car runs hot in traffic. BTW I've narrowed the problem down to the fan itself- when I bridge the terminals on the diagnostic connector, the relay trips and I get 12v at the fan plug, but the fan doesn't turn. It spins readily when I push it with my finger, so I'm pretty certain that the motor is burned out.

Question: since I seem to be having better luck finding 90-93 1.6L parts cars, will the fan from a 90-93 work on my 96, or do I need a 94+ fan?

    Thanx!

I'm fairly sure they are the same.

I agree. I've had a set of pre 93 fans on my '94 for over 2 years, I couldn't tell a difference when I swapped them.
