MSN autos lists the 2004 Vette as 3214 and the ZO6 at 3116. The 2009 at 3217 and the ZO6 at 3180.
What 2 seater sports car are you talking about?
The smart choice is the C5 ZO6, but I think an LS whatever Miata would be sooo cool. Let me know (before it's sold) when somebody finds one for 10K.
And at close to 40K, you might as well get a Cobra kit car. Looks better and more "authentic" as a small roadster with a big motor stuffed under the hood...

Don't look...there's nothing down here for you!
True, but that's still a good 700 pounds lighter. I personally consider weight more important than horsepower. The Cobra kit car is a good idea too, for that kind of money. What the hell...I'm not going to have the money to do something like this in a long time...I would be happy with 5 pounds of boost on my car as it is now.
Here's an LS1 Miata going against an F430. Imagine what an LS3 would do. The owner of the car says it weighs 2550 and had 314hp at the wheels.
Yes, street racing is stupid.

I couldn't own an Elise/Exige without swapping out the Toyota lump for a K20A-R.
Oh, well I've got two sevens, and two sevens beats a frush.

And the body is all wrong too. I wouldn't even trade straight across for my '02. You couldn't show up at a Cobra Club meet with that thing.
OTOH, you actually can get a very well-done Cobra (used) for $40K. It still wouldn't be as rare as a V8 Miata and it wouldn't have a useable top or side windows, or a heater, or a radio, or A/C, or.....
Before I bought my Jeeps I used to own Camaros and Ive always been a big fan of the LS series SBC's but I wouldn't want one in a Maita . I rather spend the $ on building my BP and adding a Snail.
