Do you use full strength?
Read about using vinegar for rust removal on another forum. I had some old tools that were underwater in my old shop when it got flooded (at least 2 feet of water). They have been sitting around for around 4-5 years untouched. Soaked them for 5 days, scrubbing them with a scotch-brite pad every few days.
Yep...just plain white (Wally World brand) vinegar. It's cheap.
BTDT... don't leave them in too long.
Don't use cheap aluminum pans either! Vinegar is also a good way to remove odors, but I set some on my granite-topped coffee table and it ate through the pan and etched the granite!
It also works as a great substitute for Round-Up, cleans mold and mildew off your masonry and out of your bowels.
lowers your blood sugar too.
