    Default HDHC Install 8/7

Installing my roll bar this Saturday. Anyone available to lend a hand or have a helpful tip?
I don't have enough $ to have a shop do it or I would go that route. Unfortunately there are a few repairs eating my funds.

I'm not available to help, but you will need a long 3/8" drill bit.

I may or may not be available. If you get stuck and need a quick hand, tool, or comment, I could sneak out for a few minutes, but pretty sure I can't spend the two hours or so it takes to do a full install with you. I know for a fact that I gave the drill bit I used away when I left NY years ago, so I can't lend you that.

My biggest tip: Cut your interior panels in very small amounts at a time. Measure, cut, rough test fit, mark, cut, rough test fit, mark, etc. The bar install itself is quick and easy. The interior panel cutting, if you want it to come out well, is the most time consuming part for me.

I only need help with putting the bar in. I'll be able to do the panels. Gotta be sure the holes are drilled correctly.

About how long does the bit need to be?

I'd help, but I will be at the BMW AX.

I want to say my bit was only about 6" long...it wasn't huge, but longer than a standard length one.

Not sure if I'll be doing it in the AM or PM. I'll probably remove the style bar in the morning and do the rest in the evening.

You need a 12 inch long 3/8" drill bit. About 10 bucks at Home Depot.

I would but I am going to be sitting in my office bored off my ass while we change out AS/400s. I have to be here for 6 to 8 hours for 15 minutes worth of work. Oh and did I mention that I am salaried and an exempt employee. That means no overtime.

FWIW, I don't recommend installing it alone, especially if it's your first one. You need at least 1 more pair of hands.

Like Rob said, trimming the interior bits is the most time consuming and what you will see every day.
