FWD Lotus????
I think it's a Geo Metro with a body kit.![]()
"The first true FWD sports car". Can a FWD car really be a sports car?
It is unique though.
I think I saw one of those on Top Gear... the Hamster was driving it for one of the challenges...

IIRC, that was from the era when GM owned Lotus, and got them to do strange things. I believe that is an Isuzu (GM Owned then too) Impulse engine, and is from the same time when GM slapped "Lotus-tuned suspension" badges on the Impulse.
I thought the "Handling by Lotus" badges were on the Isuzu Imark. I guess the Impulse had them, too. I remember wanting an Imark back in the day....

I wouldn't be surprised... I know the Impulse had it in '91 because I recall going to the dealer and looking at them with a friend.
I wanted one of those *bad* until the Miata came out and made it irrelevant.
When my wife and I got married, there was a guy in the apartment building next to ours that had a green one of these. Pretty unique. Too bad it's FWD.
BTW, does anyone else look at this and think "I'd rather NOT have the roll bar..."

Actually, yes. The way that roll bar is built, it's a killer. If you get hit from either side, you'd better be wearing a helmet. Holy cow. You probably need shoulder pads too. As rollbars go, that's just stupid.
Are you sure thats not a Kia Elan?

I like the finish on that rollbar!
