That must have been an unbelievable race. Top seventeen crossed the line in less than a second!!!!!!!!!! Biggest gap was 0.181 1st to 2nd. Smallest gap 0.002 8th to 9th and 14th to 15th. Can't wait to see some video!

Oviously, that was wrong! It was the live feed, so raw times showed from the time a particular car started the race and finished, when, in reality, the race started when the first car first triggered the timing system. What it showws, which I had never seen before, was that if all cars started at the same time, like a motocross race(side-by-side), how close the race could have been. Now we see why qualifying up front is the ONLY place to be :)

Unfortunately, the SM race finished under FCY. There was a spin in the kink on the first lap that collected 5 cars and the cleanup burned 12 minutes off the clock, and then someone slid off and got stuck in the sand trap with about 8 minutes remaining.
They only ran 6 or so laps under green and the race itself was called at the 40 minute mark - the action at the front was great under green though.
63 cars took the race start - biggest starting field in SCCA Nationals history the commentators said.
