Any advise on front hubs for an NA? I have detected a whine at about 70 mph and believe it could be front bearings as they have never been replaced. I have priced several on the net and the local auto parts store will supply them as well. I am interested in quality as this car only gets track/AX/TT beatings. Is there a brand that is lighter than stock? Is a low milage used part an viable option?

I went with OEM from Mazdaspeed Motorsports. A little more expensive, about $120 each, but peace of mind for me.
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

I have one sitting in a box because it lasted 1-day and ART will not refund my money, you can have it if you want. The other started making noise at Hallett last month and I'm about to open it up and have a look inside.
I've had the best results from repacking Chinese cheap-o bearings with white Amsoil $$$ grease twice per year and taking special care to keep everything clean.

Karl was partners with his ace mechanic Ed. i think they split in 2008 or so (?) karl appears to be running the biz out of his home now and working on his 944. they did my injectors earlier this year, so Karl is still at it. sorry to hear he wont take care of those hubs.

If you are not looking for whiz bang then look no further than rock auto. Autozone can beat their price by a little bit but you get duralast hub instead of one with timen bearings. The same Timken bearing equiped hub at autozone is about 50 dollars or more more expensive at the big box places.

Thanks all for the help. I ordered a front set from Planet so we will see. Should be at my house by early next week.

FYI, the Chinese bearings I just picked-up of Ebay have good grease, easy to repack races, and (most important) heat treated inner and outer races.
