That's too bad Tim. Sorry to hear that.
The Silver Shadow got backed into by a big bad Lexus SUV. The owner was taking us to dinner and he forgot my car was parked in his driveway when he backed out of the garage and turned in the wrong direction. Estimates run from 700 to 1100. There is an excellent shop (Frisco Paint and Body) that's going to do the work. Buddy is paying for it out of his own pocket. It took paint off the bumper, cracked it in other spots and creased the trunk lid. OUCH!!!

Thanks Sammm.... One of the shops said he was going to mix his own paint and not rely on the Mazda color code. That didn't sound too good so I ran..........fast

Maybe that's why "Buddy" shouldn't drive a big Lexus SUV.
Glad he's being a stand-up guy about it, though. Accidents do happen. Most of the time it's some moron in a parking lot who drives off without a note.

TTT, I'll be interested to see how you like Frisco Paint and Body -- where are they located? I'm looking for a good body/paint shop to get some work done on my OTM.* And my Miata could use some touch up here and there...Originally Posted by Tim the Teacher

* I hit a deer in East Texas with my Honda CR-V about 3 years ago, and that deer didn't have insurance. Anyway, I took it to Central Collision (I think), and they did a pretty good job. But the paint hasn't held up, and I need to get it redone. I don't think I'll take it back to them, so maybe Frisco Paing and Body will be better...

That's a helluva buddy!!
Sounds like a stand-up kinda guy...
Frisco P and B are in downtown on Main by the City Hall. I serve on the Parks and Rec board with a guy who says they are the best shop around. He used to send his rental trucks there to be repaired and his own vehicle shows no sign of paint problems 4 years after his was repainted. Scheduled for the 21st of the month so I will take before and after pictures.

Tim,
You should watch where you go parking that thing.
That does suck that it was your buddy that hit it. Thats the kind of thing that screws up a lot of friendships. Hopefully when it's all said and done neither of you will be sore about it. :colors: People have a tendancy to change about this kind of subject after awhile.
Just another reason to hate everyone and have no friends

I got a phone call from State Farm and they told me my buddy filed a claim instead of paying it out of his own pocket. They told me to pick a shop and get a rental when I needed it. Looks like I will get to drive one of those new Mustangs over at Hertz pretty soon

I can recommend the body shop at Huffines. (NOT THE REPAIR SHOP, just the body shop.) They've put my Jeep back together 8 times and re-did the front of my '93 Miata as well.
The trick is that they're a State Farm "Service First" location, which means that they serve as the adjuster, too. It's a great deal because you don't have to spend your time fighting with the adjuster and trying to explain to him why you need something that the body shop knows you need. You just drop the car off, leave in the rental, and pick it up.
There's also an Enterprise location on site, and they're in Plano. (I'm guessing that's near you since you were talking about the place on Main in Frisco.)
Anyway, if you want a contact out there, let me know. And some of the guys here have seen the front of the '93.
