Default FS: Endura Tech coilovers for MX-5/RX-8

    (Stock pic)

For sale: 1 full set of Endura Tech ETC-MRX800 coilovers. These have been on my RX-8 for the last 10,000 miles. They have one season of autocrossing and about 500 track miles on them.

These coilovers will fit any ‘04+ RX-8 or ‘06+ MX-5. These are the exact same coilovers as used on miatamoto/OZMDD’s MX-5. With these coilovers my car took 2nd & 3rd at the Texas SCCA National Tour, won STX in Texas Region SCCA (against cars equipped with AST 4200s and Koni 2812s), and consistently runs under the existing TTD lap record at MSR. There are better coilovers available, but not at anything close to this price.

Fully threaded steel bodies with independent height and preload adjustments (set ride height and preload independently – no need for helper springs). Twin tube, rebound adjustable (ten detented settings).

    Included spring rates:
    • Front: 8 kg/mm (448 lbs/in)
    • Rear: 5 kg/mm (280 lbs/in)

Other rates are available from Endura Tech if you want them.

I’m asking $1000 for the set. That includes everything in the picture shown above – front coilovers with front upper mounts, rear coilovers (reuse stock upper mounts), spanners, shock adjustment tool, and rear shock adjustment extension cables.

Why am I selling? I had a big off at MSR in October and thought I’d blown a front shock. Endura Tech made me a good deal on a full replacement set, so I bought them. Turns out my problem was actually a bad tie rod and alignment. No damage or leaks present on any of the shocks. My loss is your gain.

That’s right – I like these shocks so much I bought another set!

    Exclusive DFWMiata money-back guarantee!
Buying used parts can be a crapshoot, I know. I’ve bought parts before that weren’t as advertised, and it sucks. So here’s what I’m offering: If after purchase you are unhappy with these shocks for any reason, return them to me (in the same condition, obviously) within two weeks and I’ll refund your entire purchase price (less any paypal fees). No questions asked.

    Thanks for looking!

Sorry, but no. I'll be happy to install them for the new owner for a modest fee. I'm afraid that with a newborn my spare time is too precious these days to give it away.

Did you have to reuse the factory upper mounts in the rear?

Yes, these use the factory tops in the rear. As far as I know, pretty much all NC/RX8 coilovers do.

The only coilovers I've seen for the MX-5 that don't are the TEINs. The problem is that they don't have nearly as much travel due to the smaller top mount than stock.

Bump! The RX-8 is going back to stock over the Christmas holiday, so I now have two sets of these coilovers to sell! Here are the adjusted prices:

Set #1: ~10,000 miles, one season autocross, 500 track miles. Includes everything seen above. Still in great shape. New lower price $850!

Set #2: Fronts have less than 1000 miles, 1 autocross, 60 track miles. Rears are brand new, never taken out of the box! Includes everything seen above. $1000. MSRP on these shocks is $1270 plus shipping. Save almost $300!

If you need help installing these, I'll be happy to help you out in my garage. If you just want to drop the car off and have them installed, we can work something out.

Why am I taking the car back to stock? A couple of reasons. I went to ECR this weekend, and realized that even with a new transmission the drivetrain in my car is just not going to hold up to track abuse over the long term. Also, I've had the car for over four years, which is way longer than my automotive ADD is comfortable with. It's time for something else. so I'm putting the car back to stock and I'm going to sell it this spring.

    Thanks again for looking!

    Bump again!!!

Apparently Ken at Endura Tech is having a sale on these shocks to promote their recent SEMA appearance, so I've been forced to cut my prices as well.

Set #1: 10k miles, one season autocross, 500 track miles. Now only $550!!!

Set #2: 1k miles, one autocross, 60 track miles. Rears are brand new, never taken out of the box! Now only $700!!!

Yeah, I'm crazy. When Endura-Tech's sale ends, so does mine. Buy 'em now or regret it forever!
