Default Delievery guys bored or just dumb?

The FedEx guy just started this. The UPS guy has been doing this since day 1, but he will put the box under the mat in its normal position in the middle of the door. I'll give the FedEx guy the benefit of the doubt and say he saw the wet spot there and figured it'd be best to leave it on a drier section of entrance-way. For reference, that's an 18x14x12 box under the mat. So it's not this little subtle bump.

I hope they are just bored and have a sense of humor, because it's probably something I would do if I had their job.

Just easier for them to do it that way: 1) put down box, 2) move mat on top of it

Versus: 1) put down box, 2) move mat out of the way, 3) move box to where mat was, 4) put mat on top of it.

There's been a rash of thefts in our area with people driving around and taking the boxes on door steps.....at least your guy is trying to cover it up.
If you're addicted to cold turkey how do you stop?

I reject your reality and substitute my own.

Many years ago the UPS guy delivered a VHS camcorder to my house and left it in the pouring rain on the back patio table. Surprisingly, it was not ruined!

That was my first thought too, but you really can't see the front door from the road. You have to walk up the yard a decent amount to see it. I just think it's hilarious - I've never seen that before we moved to this house.

Since it seems to be a game with them, I would get involved. Glue the mat down. Bwahahaha!

Or put a note under it saying, "Hello, Brown Santa."

Gluing the mat sounds great but I'm sure the wifey wouldn't appreciate that much  I could always turn on the sprinklers when it gets hot again. I'm home when they drop off, just have a puppy on my lap so I don't feel like getting up at the time. They never knock or ring the bell anyway. I'll have to figure out my plan of "attack" soon.

They used to try and leave it with a neighbor. If there are still such a thing as neighbors. I request "adult signature required" and leave a note on the door to deliver it to the neighbor. Ten pounds of black powder labeled as "Explosive" caused her a little concern.

    LOL

When I get a job that requires me to leave the house, I will go back to requiring a signature. But for now, I see the guy pull up to drop it off. It's nice when the dogs don't see the guy pull up.

I've had them leave the mat on top if it's thin enough. We have a front porch area that kind forms an L shape with the door being by the lower part of the L. The top part of the L has bushes and whatnot in front of it and sometimes they leave them right behind the bushes.
